All of the temples closed in March because of the pandemic. After a couple months, most of the temples reopened for sealings only. We prayed every day that the temples would go to phase 2 (which would let members go to the temple for their own endowment) before Hanna left on her mission. A couple of her friends left to go into the mission field without getting to go to the temple.
We were so thankful that the Cardston Temple went to phase 2 while Hanna was still doing at-home MTC. She could bring 16 guests with her. We had to get our temperature taken at the door to make sure we weren't sick, and we had to wear a mask the whole time we were in the temple, and we had to use hand sanitizer a million times, but we were just happy to be able to go.
After not being able to go to the temple for six months, we were so happy to go again. Hanna liked it and was overwhelmed all at the same time. I wish she could go back again before she leaves because there is so much to take in on your first time.
We wish Jill and Larsen could have come to Canada to go with us to the temple, but it just didn't work with the 14-day quarantine requirement. We were thankful for those who could come to the temple with her, and for the influence they have had on her life.
