Spring League Basketball & Softball

Carly got to play on a fun spring league basketball team with Alan Kormos and Skyler Leavitt as their coaches. They had practices at 7 am twice a week. Dedication.
Their first tournament was the opening Battle at the Bridge in Lethbridge. There were a few girls who also had a dance recital that weekend, so their first game they only had 6 players. They played good for a while, but they ran out of gas. Their second game they had a full team, and their third game they only had 2 subs again. They did good.

The next tournament was in Cardston. They played hard. I think they won all their games.

The third tournament was the Battle at the Bridge. They lost their first game to Magrath by a couple points. But then Magrath couldn't go to the second game that night because they were all in a school play. So our team got to stay on the winning side of the bracket, and they ended up winning the tournament. Our girls got t-shirts for winning the tournament. So they went out of the gym and just held up the t-shirts for a picture, and then they took them back into the gym and gave them to Magrath because they should have been in the championship. It was an impressive sportsmanship gesture. Even the organizers of the tournament wrote an email to the coach later to tell him how impressed they were.
