One day, Marilee sent us a text that we were having a Christmas gift exchange and gave us our names of who we were giving to. It was quite a battle to find a day we could have a party. We found out that someone had given Shauna a week at a timeshare condo in Kalispell, Montana, and we asked if we could invite ourselves for a night. Barb, Dixie and I all arranged our time off at work, and we headed south after church.
We weren't supposed to share any stories until we got to the border to pick up Dixie. We laughed and talked and ate. It took teamwork to find the condo by Flathead Lake. It was dark. Our GPS wasn't helping.
We had our Christmas exchange. We played a game. We laughed and talked. On Monday, they had a mini birthday party for me - so nice of them. Then we went shopping. We had success finding some Christmas gifts, some Christmas sweaters, some groceries, some shower cleaner (well, Dixie did).
Shauna's son came down on Monday and met us and stayed with Shauna and we headed back home.
It was a highlight of my Christmas season. I am so thankful for good friends - friends we don't have to talk to everyday or do things with all the time - but we love to talk and hang out when we can.
I will never look at instant pots the same.
And we watched Marilee have continuous hot flashes and gave us something to look forward.
