The party was at Les & Hollis' new house in Lewistown, Montana this year for New Year's Eve/Day. But first it took lots of excitement to get to their house.
Buck & Martha went a day early and got stuck and had to walk the last mile to Les's house, and he came with the tractor.
The next day we came and got stuck in the same place. We sent Hanna to run to get Les. But within minutes there were two four-wheelers that came to help us and told us their tractor was on its way to pull us out. The tractor pulled us out and then plowed the road for us to get through. By then Grandpa Buck had come in the tractor because Les was still at work. It was so nice of the neighbors to come and help us.
Then Sarah and Rod got a flat tire about an hour from their house. They couldn't get it off, so they called roadside assistance. They didn't come for 2 1/2 hours. Then it was tricky for them to find a tire shop that is open on New Year's Eve. They ended up going back home and they left at 5 am on New Year's Day and made it safely to Les's house while we were still eating pancakes.
Back to the party. We had a New Year's eve barn party. We had teams and we competed in lots of events: beebee gun shooting, bike race, bad minton, roping the dummy, and a pogo stick competition. Grandpa Buck did 30 pogo jumps with the help of Austin and Les. Hanna won the contest with 149 jumps, but Taycee was a close second with 144 jumps. The barn party was awesome.
Then we went inside and played games. The girls had a dance we got to watch at midnight.
New Year's Day we had the perfect sledding party. The sun was shining, no wind, great snow, lots of sleds, no injuries, and lots of screams. We went sledding twice on New Year's Day and once more on Saturday before we left (that time there was a tube that hit the fence, popped the tube, and two kids had slight injuries).
This is Grandma Nunn and all 15 grandchildren.
Happy New Year!
