Merry Christmas

After many attempts to go to Temple Square to see the lights, there was finally a break in the snow storms so we met some of my family for a fun time. We went to Clark Planetarium, ate at the Gateway and then went to see the lights on Temple Square. It was on December 23 and there were MANY people who had the same idea, but it was still fun.
DRESSED UP WARM TO SEE THE LIGHTS

WAITE FAMILY ON TEMPLE SQUARE

For Christmas Eve, we had our own nativity program. We started a new tradition that each person gets to open one present, and this year it was slippers or socks, so Austin said that is going to be our tradition, we will all get some type of footwear to open on Christmas Eve. We also opened a game (Horseopoly) and so we declared that opening a game would also be part of our tradition.

All of the girls slept in Jill's bedroom on Christmas Eve. On Christmas morning Hanna came into our room at 4:38 a.m. and told us they were ready. We told her not yet. Jill came in about an hour later. We said not until 6:30 a.m. Christmas morning was very fun. Santa Claus brought Jill a bedspread, Hanna a cupcake maker and a fur real puppy, Lucy a Cinderella Barbie and a princess horse that pulls a princess carriage, and Carly a Little People bus. Christmas day we just hung out, played with all of our new stuff, and ate good food.

Christmas Spirit

Saturday was my birthday! Saturday birthdays rock. We weren't in a rush and we got to spend the day together. Austin made breakfast, then I did have to go to choir practice, then we went sledding in our backyard, and then we went out to lunch/dinner at Hamilton's Steakhouse. Austin had gift certificate for it, but we went at 3 p.m. so it wouldn't be too crowded. It was great. Austin gave me a spa package where I get to go to a spa for 4 different visits (haircut, manicure, skin care, and massage). A lady came to his school to sell them to the teachers. I was so surprised/excited. My family also gave me a sweater and an exercise mat.

Hanna is a daredevil sledder. She likes to stand up and she always says that reindeer pull her sled, she says "Let's go Rudolph." Carly's first sledding experience.

Plus I had an early birthday lunch with Hilary (thanks so much - it was fun and tastey and I also enjoyed my leftovers). And tomorrow I am going to lunch with a friend whose birthday is December 19 so we call it our pity lunch. She doesn't like having her birthday so close to Christmas either.
My new birthday shirt/sweater.

My family has a tradition to sleep under the Christmas tree for one night before Christmas. Austin only made it until 1:30 a.m. when he decided the couch wasn't too comfortable.

Austin and I got asked to be Mary and Joseph for the nativity at our ward Christmas party. Carly wasn't a very cuddly baby Jesus.

Thanksgiving, Austin's Birthday, Carly is Cute

This month we had a great Thanksgiving, celebrated Austin's birthday, and have some pictures of Carly to share.

We went to Wyoming to visit Les & Hollis for Thanksgiving. It was fun to go on new roads that we haven't been on before. We even stopped at Martin's Cove on our way home. It was the cheapest trip we have been on for years since the gas prices were so low. We only paid $1.43 a gallon in Evanston.
We went hiking on Thanksgiving morning. It was a bit chilly.
Hollis cooked up a delicious Thanksgiving feast.

Austin's 35th Birthday. Lucy kept wrapping up balloons in handkerchiefs to give him as gifts.

Lucy dressed up Carly in Jill's crocheting looms. It is fun to watch Carly and Lucy play together. Lucy can really make Carly laugh. Carly is 7 months and she is just about an official crawler.

Nunn Family Update

I guess I should be happy if I write once a month. It seems hard to find a minute to sit and blog.
So here is our last month of life in review.

First, we had germs and viruses galore. Hanna then Lucy then Austin then Carly had pink eye. I got it two days ago. I have to wear my glasses for a couple days. Jill told me it is so embarrassing to have a Mom wear glasses like this that are so ugly from the 90's. Also, we had the stomach flu roam our house. First Austin then Lucy then Hanna and then Jill. It was the kind that stuck around for a few days. I think I used a whole can of Lysol and did 100 loads of laundry.
Lucy waking up with pink eye.

Jill finished her fall soccer season. Her team was undefeated.

For our days off of school for UEA, our plans were changed because of sickness. But we still did some shopping, made some Christmas presents, and went up the canyon to take pictures of Carly. Austin went to a calf roping school. He loved it.

We loved celebrating Halloween. We carved our pumpkins, went to the pumpkin walk, went to a ward Halloween party, and then we had a Waite cousins trick or treating party because we were all at Jeanette's house for Rachelle's wedding. We borrow our costumes from Austin's principal. It is my favorite thing to do because they look so cute, it is free, and it requires very little creativity from me. I did feel a bit of pity for myself not being able to eat any chocolate.

Rachelle married Nathan Whipple on Saturday, November 1. All 7 of the Waite kids, parents and spouses were in the Mt. Timpanogas Temple together. It was awesome. The weather was really great for November. One of my cousins who is going to BYU came to Jeanette's house to watch the grandkids. Plus one of Nathan's friends came and dumped off his 5 very wild & crazy kids. We were happy to see that Jeanette's house was still standing.

The grandkids sang a"That's How You Know" from the movie Enchanted at the luncheon. They had practiced dancing, but the curtain didn't get opened for them so they just stood and sang. They sang and danced 10 times while we were cleaning up. The sisters sang "You Had Me From Hello."

We all wore pink and brown to match Rachelle's wedding colors. All of the boys wore matching pink ties. All of the grandkids and brother-in-laws decorated their car. I hope they appreciated it.

September Excitement - School/Birthday/Anniversary

School
This is what my kitchen looks like as the girls walk out the door to go to school. We move over the ice cream dishes from last night so we can have breakfast. Then we move over the breakfast dishes to make lunches. Then Lucy wakes up and has breakfast.

Hanna & Jill on their way to school in their quality new school clothes. Lucy wanted to be in the picture, too.
Hanna on picture day. I only buy their class pictures not their individual pictures,
so here is a memory of how cute they look.

AUSTIN & KAYLYNN'S 12TH ANNIVERSARY

We celebrated our anniversary by going out to dinner at the Copper Mill. I had been dreaming all day of ordering cheesecake for dessert, but when dessert time came, they only had chocolate cheesecake (which I can't eat while I am nursing). So we went to Sam's Club and bought a whole cheesecake and brought it home to share with our girls. We left our girls with my brother & his wife, Doug & Emily. Carly only screamed the last 20 minutes. It was the first time we left her.

JILL'S BIRTHDAY
For Jill's 10th birthday we had sticky buns for breakfast. She got to go on a field trip at school and then to Activity Days. We went to Village Inn for dinner where she got a free piece of pie (but no fancy song by the waitress). Then we had some people over for cake and opening presents.

She had her friend party on Friday after school. We had a pony party. They rode our pony, Sparky, I took their picture on the pony and they decorated a frame to put it in. They also roped the dummy and did stick barrel racing. Then they had cupcakes and pop and opened presents. It is a sign that Jill is getting older that she got 4 new items of clothes from gifts from her friends. She is past the toy stage of life.

Canada Horse Sale

My family missed the second day of school so we could go to Canada so Austin could help at the horse sale at Lodge Creek Ranch. We came back with 4 new rock chips in our windshield (thanks to the Montana freeway) and 2 new horses.

Hanna's new horse - Spurs. He is only a few months old. He will stay at the ranch until October when he will be weaned from his mom.
Jill's new horse - Little Lena. She is a yearling mare. She went to Grandpa Buck's house for the winter.

Hogle Zoo with the Bennetts

Jeanette invited us to come and share some tickets to go to Hogle Zoo for a fun thing to do before school starts. We had a really fun day. Grandpa Randy even joined us since Grandma Carol was helping her Dad in Salt Lake. The weather was great and it wasn't too crowded. We loved the bird show. If you ever go to Hogle Zoo, you have to make sure you go to it. And plus we all are going to have good luck for the next year because we gazed at the eyes of the white alligator.
Hailey got chosen out of the audience, and she got to hold out her arm and a bird landed on her arm and ate the seeds out of her hand. She's famous.
