My family missed the second day of school so we could go to Canada so Austin could help at the horse sale at Lodge Creek Ranch. We came back with 4 new rock chips in our windshield (thanks to the Montana freeway) and 2 new horses.

Austin helping to get the mares and colts ready for the sale.

The mares and colts coming in from the pasture. This picture shows the prairie landscape of the ranch and how you can see someone coming for days.

Hanna's new horse - Spurs. He is only a few months old. He will stay at the ranch until October when he will be weaned from his mom.

Jill's new horse - Little Lena. She is a yearling mare. She went to Grandpa Buck's house for the winter.

Ooooh, looks like fun. I know I'm a city slicker when I read things like "yearling mare" and have to guess at the actual meaning. Thanks for helping us move the other night, you guys are the best!
I'm going to be sure not to tell my kids that Jill and Hanna got new horses . . . we won't even let them get a dog! Did you ever think that your life would include horse sales and rock chips from Montana freeways?
Little Lena is purty!
