Our niece, Julia Lee, got married in the Payson Utah Temple on December 14, 2024.
Austin was going to drive his parents down in their car, but they made it to Babb and decided they better not go. Grandpa had pancreatitis and was not feeling great, and Grandma's arthritis isn't great either.
So they went back home and Austin and I continued on. We stayed in Idaho Falls at Julie's house on the way down. We did go out to eat with my parents which was also my Mom's birthday. My mom has also been having severe health problems, and it was a miracle that she felt good enough to go out to eat.
Jill was the photographer for Julia's wedding. She said no at first because she was 8 months pregnant, but then she decided she would do it since Julia hadn't found anyone else.
The Payson Temple is beautiful and the sealing was really good. Then we had a couple of hours to kill before the luncheon, so we went with Jill and the young Nunns to Chik-fil-A for lunch and then to a rope store and then to say hi to Brady Pitchford.
Then they had the luncheon and reception. We did say to ourselves that it was a kind of strange to have a reception in a city where neither of them are from. All of their college friends and family who came to the wedding had already been their for the wedding and luncheon. A handful of extra people did come to the reception, and then they had a dance, which we were pretty disappointed in their choice of songs. Even the next morning, Larsen said, their music was disappointing for a couple who had been to the temple that morning.
Anyway, they had a sparkler send off and off they went. Two peas in a pod.
It was fun to see Les, Hollis, Declan and Katie, as well as Jill's family and all of the Lees.
A few weeks before when Grandpa Buck wasn't doing good, and they knew it was a possibility that they wouldn't make it to the wedding, Aaron asked Sarah to have Grandpa and Grandma recorded a video message he could surprise Julia with and play at the reception.
They were memorable videos....Grandpa told about one time when Julia wet her pants and Grandma was in the background clanking dishes and you could hear Kirbie (the dog) running around. Then Grandma's video was very long (such a surprise that she is long winded.... Bless their hearts.
Austin drove home the next day, and I went home with Jill and Larsen. I went to stay with Jill to help her at the end of her pregnancy, and also my nephew Carson was getting married the next Saturday.
