Jill and Larsen's Canada Wedding Open House

We had a wedding open house for Jill the weekend after she got married. When we picked her wedding date, the SUU schedule showed this week as a fall break so they could have a honeymoon for that week on their way to Canada. Then the schedule changed, and they actually had class in between. So they ended up flying to Great Falls with Ralph & Natalie on Wednesday night.
On Thursday night we set up for the reception while Jill and Larsen spent a night in Waterton. I was so happy with how the decorations turned out, and I owe it all to Vicki Cahoon. We rented the wedding backdrop from Wes Card, and he even came and set it up and took it down. Vicki borrowed and collected decorations from everywhere.
Jewel Hardy made all of the butterhorns for our dessert. Barb Salmon was in charge of the drink - pina colada with Dixie Bevans and Marilee Cahoon helping her.
There were lots of other things happening that night, but I was so happy with how many people came and how thankful I was for all of the people who love and support us.
Austin had the idea to have a live band so we could have a dance and make it more of a party. He invited Southbound (4 men from Mountain View) to come and play. So the first hour we just had a line and the second hour we had the band play, and we had a dance. Lots of people stayed and lots of people danced.
Jill had asked Aunt Sarah to make a cake. She did a practice one in August for Julia's birthday. I have to admit I was worried (see the last picture). But when I got to the church on Friday night, she had been there to set up the cake, and I was so amazed at how awesome it was.
At the end of the reception, Jill and Larsen cut the cake to feed each other a piece. They got a bit carried away, and Larsen got cake smeared on Jill's dress. (hopefully it will come out).
It was fun to have Larsen's parents here and get to know them more. Luckily our friends Jamie & Connie Quinton let Ralph and Natalie stay at their house.
At the end of the day, I was so happy with how everything turned out, how generous everyone was in their gifts to Jill and Larsen, how many people helped us, and then I was happy that it was finished! We did it!
