CHS Sweetheart Contest

Each year, there is a Sweetheart Contest at Cardston High School where each club gets to nominate one senior girl to be in the contest. Each contestant make a poster about themselves, have an interview with the judges, and then they have an assembly and they ask a boy to be their escort and introduce them, and then they share a talent.

The Rodeo Club nominated Jill. Wyatt Olsen was her escort.

Wyatt wrote a poem. He did such a great job.

Jill Nunn
I’m here to tell you a little bit about a girl we call Jill Nunn.
And give you all the reasons why she should be number one.
She is a girl with many talents and there ain’t much she can’t do.
I could go on forever, but two minutes will have to do.
Let’s start with sports, she’s good at that, and I’m sure you know what I mean.
With all the hours she spends in the gym, she’s an asset to the team.
Free throws, rebounds, and lay-ups, she’ll give it her best shot.
You think that pun was intended, but news flash, it was not.
Well now we’ll move to rodeo, I tell you it ain’t any easy sport.
But with all the practice she puts in, she rarely comes up short.
With long hauls and the radio, she pulls up just a jammin.
But as for her and Hanna, they lead the nanny slamming.
If you ask her about her roping, she’ll prove it in the miles,
Because all of her hard work paid off when she made the national finals.
Of all of the attention Jill deserves, you’ll find her behind the lense.
She’s one that enjoys selflessly taking pictures of her family and friends.
She’s the kind that never meets a stranger, she’s a friend to everyone.
Making sure they all feel loved. Big surprise, she is a Nunn.
She’s one of those natural leaders, the kind you read about in a book.
If you’re wondering who to follow, well, I’ll tell you where to look.
She’s not afraid to share what she knows, so if you’re feeling in a smog,
just ask her, she’ll tell you, or you can read it in her blog.

So now I speak to the judges, I hope you can clearly see,
That Jill Nunn is, who this year’s sweetheart queen should be.

For Jill's talent, she made a highlight video of some of her rodeo runs. It was sweet.

Jill didn't win the contest, but she is still a sweetheart (although she said she wouldn't use that word to describe herself.)
