Zone Champion - Aggregate Juvenile Girl Champion

Hanna spent a couple months training this spring for track with Coach Rowe and Coach Gerard. And it paid off.

School Track Meet
Hanna not only placed first in all her events, but she broke 4 records:
100 meters
200 meters
400 meters
Triple jump

Her relay team won first.

The divisional track meet was also in Cardston.
Hanna won first in hurtles, 100 meters, 200 meters and relay. She was 2nd in triple jump.

Jill, Lucy &Carly skipped school to come with me to watch Hanna at zones in Lethbridge.

She was 4th place in triple jump.

Then she won the hurtles.

Her next race was 200 meters and she won it. Although she was in second for part of the race, but she pulled it off.

The 100 meter race is always a close one.  She usually battles it out with her teammate, Melissa Carter, but this time it was with this same girl from the 200(in the picture above in blue).  The only reason Hanna beat her is because Hanna leaned in at the finish line.  She won by a fraction of a second.

Her relay team also won first place.

They announce the Aggregate winners for male/female for each grade.  Hanna was the Aggregate Female Winner for Juvenile Girls for the South Zone of Alberta!!!    She had 24 points. Go Hanna!

They also give out banners to the schools in each division with the highest points.  Since 9th graders go to Cardston High School, they can't be combined in points with Cardston Junior High School.  But the athletes in Hanna's grade are so awesome, that they had enough points to win the banner all by themselves.

Go Hanna!
