It has always been her goal to make it to provincials and nationals.
She didn't have as many good rodeos as she hoped. Near the end of the season she was in about 13th place in each event.
In the second to last rodeo she won goat tying so that put her in 10th place so she qualified to go to provincials.
At first I thought of course we will go to Grand Prairie with her. Then I thought maybe Austin and Jill would just go. Then we decided to send her with Mike and Vicki Cahoon.
They left on their 10 hour drive to the rodeo. The first round, Jill's goat ran crazy and she was 14.4 seconds and didn't place. In the second round she was 8.7 seconds and placed third. That moved her to 20th out of 30. Then in the third round she was 8.7 again and placed fourth. After three rounds she was third in the average and ended up placing sixth out of 30, so she qualified to compete in the Canadian high school rodeo finals!
The morale of the story is to never give up.
And also that blessings come when you keep the Sabbath day holy.
Bailey Cahoon was Jill's sister for the week. These are two funny girls. Bailey is awesome!
Off to Cowboy Prom!
