We had a birthday-eve celebration for Lucy because we didn't have school. We went swimming in Lethbridge. It was a really fun pool, and we had a fun time. We weren't quite as excited when we left the pool and our car battery was dead because I didn't close my door all the way. After running from car to car ten times in the parking lot asking if anyone had jumper cables, I finally went and asked for help at the Backstreet Pub. Some very friendly men came and jumped our car for us. We were on our way to lunch and grocery shop.
On Lucy's birthday we had sticky buns and bacon. (*Note to self: instant pudding doesn't work in sticky buns. I couldn't find and cook and serve pudding in Canada. Okay, so I really only looked in 2 stores. I have to remember to stock up in "the states.")
We had Lucy's birthday dinner (steak and twice-baked potatoes) in between Lucy's basketball session and Hanna's. Grandma and Grandpa and Dixie joined us for dinner and Dairy Queen ice cream cake.
Lucy got fun toys, 2 movies, and a shirt. She gets very excited. I hope she had a fun day!
Thanks to Karma for the cute Barbie clothes!
Thanks to "my favorite aunt" Diana for the shirt and Barbie movie.

awesome picture of her on the phone, that one is priceless!!
That picture of her laughing on the phone is so great. And my recipe for sticky buns has "COOK AND SERVE PUDDING ONLY" written on it very large. Whoever I got the recipe from must have run into the same problem :)
Happy Birthday Lucy, I love the picture on the phone too! Have fun being 7!!
I thought of Lucy on Tuesday. Okay, really I thought of Lucy and Carly because I knew one of them was born the day before Nate but I couldn't remember which (I hope we can still be friends). It sounds like a perfect birthday! My kids get that same look on their faces when their Lee cousins call and sing to them. Birthday phone calls are great.
p.s. I want to learn to make sticky buns. If you think it is within my limited skill set, send me the recipe. I promise to use cook and serve pudding.
I always have chocolate cook and serve, but I bet you don't use chocolate on sticky buns!
All your parties look fun!
Jesse always has the cook and serve pudding, because he can make it with lactaid milk but I don't know where he gets it because I don't buy it. We love Lucy she is an absolute peach. But my favourite is the very friendly men.

Kaylynn, I happened to go back to see a comment I had made on Barb's blog, and I read your comment about the "random lady in Oregon". I thought that was cute, so I clicked on your name, and it took me to your blog. Well I read that you used to live in Hyrum, Utah, and your not going to believe this, but I grew up in North Logan! Before I got married and moved up here to the middle of nowhere eastern Oregon,(8 yrs ago) I owned a home in Paradise! And then to top it off, I decided to leave you a comment, and the first name I see is Teija. I know her! She lives in the same area as me, and we have mutual friends! LOL! What a small world! Well, this "random lady in Oregon", just wanted to say hi, and to say how much I miss Cache Valley. Take care...
