Hanna has always loved animals and has always wanted every animal she sees (puppies, miniature donkeys, baby deer, bunnies, chickens, etc).
A few months ago she decided she wanted a chameleon, but then she learned that they aren't very hardy. But she heard that bearded dragons were great pets. So she started saving her money, and she would search the internet all the time to check prices and what equipment she would need.
Six months later, she had saved enough money and hadn't changed her mind about wanting this pet.
So we headed to Lethbridge, went to all 3 pet stores and came home with Rico and a glass cage for him, along with a carton of crickets and worms.
He really is a low maintenance, easy going pet. They say they are like a family dog and they will get to know us and our voices. They also told us to hold him everyday to keep him gentle.
So Hanna feeds him crickets and worms everyday. We even took him to show her class at school.
Because we love Hanna, we have welcomed Rico to our home!

Oh that is quite a pet! I have to admit it's fun to see Rico, and great for Hanna for knowing what she wants and working to get it!! The foundation of many great things to come!! May Rico and the Nunn's have many happy adventures!!
Your the best mom ever!!
you are a brave mom! I put my foot down when it comes to any kind of reptile!
Yeah, don't tell my kids this, but I don't love them enough to welcome a Rico into our home. Fortunately whether by nature or nuture they have never expressed any desire for a pet. Britton's quote, "Why would anyone ever get a pet??" My thoughts exactly, son.
We don't love our kids that much. JK. What a fun pet. It's better than a rat!
Does Rico let just anybody hold him? I might have to stop by sometime. Oh wait. Every time I stop by you guys aren't home!
That is actually pretty big. I don't know if I could handle that in my house. I don't think any of my kids would hold him like Carly is either. And where do you get the crickets?
