1st Day of Fall

Today is the first day of fall and I am sure it is the first day of the year that there has been no rain in the 7 day forecast. Just sun. Thank goodness. We might actually use the word hot by next week. We'll see.

We live right next to an Indian reservation so there are lots of Natives at the schools, and we have some met some really cool Natives. So yesterday Jill came home and said she had all of our new Native names (we helped her with a couple):

Carly BareBottom
Lucy LikestoWearShorts
Hanna LeavesaTrail (we always know where Hanna has been because there is a trail of stuff)
Jill LongintheJohn
Kaylynn GonnaStartaNewDiet
Austin RunningHorse

School lunches have also taken on a whole new meaning in our new life. First, I have two more people that need to take a school lunch, Austin and Lucy. I haven't had to make Austin a lunch for 7 years. Next, to buy a school lunch is $4 per person per day. That's really not going to be happening. Then to top it off, Jill brought home a note that said there was a student in grade six with severe peanut allergies so no one can bring anything with nuts. What? No peanut butter sandwiches. We have to get creative. I have started making muffins once a week (not even Jiffy muffins from a box). It really has turned out to be okay because we have to put some effort into being prepared for lunches, so we are not scrambling every morning to find something for them to take.

We are down to 5 more days until payday. 85 down, 5 to go. Something I hope we never have to do again. THANKS to everyone has been generous to us and given us aid!! We appreciate you.

Jill gets to go do Baptisms for the Dead for her first time tonight. She is excited. It is a tradition around here for the parents to come on their daughter's first time, so I get to go and help Jill and Austin will baptize her. Plus, we are taking some family names from Karma. It will be great!

Let the sun shine!!!

I love your Native name. Too funny.

$4 is steep for school lunch! Emily takes her lunch almost every day because she doesn't like the school food. Her favorite thing to take is a bagel with cream cheese and jam (I send the cream cheese and jam in little containers so it doesn't get the bagel all soggy and she spreads it on at lunchtime). That's my good idea of the day. I'm glad that peanut butter isn't outlawed in our town.

You don't need a new diet! I love Carly's name--It would have fit all 3 of mine!hee hee Savanna has started taking cold lunch every day too and I have had to be more prepared. Her favorite is crackers and ham and cheese (homemade lunchables)She has been good at coming home from school and making her own treat for the weeks lunches! Love, Bonnie Tiredofmovingsprinklerpipe!

WOW... $4.00 for lunch? What do they feed them, steak and shrimp? I certainly couldn't afford to feed my kids at that price. That is so special that you both get to go with Jill, Sophie had the experience of going last Saturday and really liked it. I feel bad we weren't invited to go, she just went with the yw. Sounds like all is well. Sending our love!!

Pizza, we do a lot of pizza like pizza buns, taco pizza's, also we do a lot of wraps with tuna, chicken, or hamburger.

Jill was so beautiful in the temple, we feel so lucky to have your darling family in the ward.

Kaylynn, Sierra did not go to the dance. Instead 3 of her friends came over to our house for dinner and a movie--probably more fun anyway! As for the horse pictures, The Tuff little Shiner is on the blog and the other one arrives at our house tomorrow--hopefully-- and I will get some pictures posted of him. love, bon

I love your new names. I wonder what my family would name me. Mmmm, maybe I don't want to know.

School lunches are hard enough without having to watch the peanut products. It's too bad that everyone has to take such measures, but I suppose it is the better thing to do.

I went on the tred mill this morning for 2 miles straight and you know what? I am not sure I really like running. But I so want a 5k t-shirt. Yep, funny things can motivate me.
