Hip Surgery & Wisdom Teeth

Austin's hips have been hurting for years - especially when he rides horses. He went to see a doctor before we even moved to Canada, but they said you have bad hips but are pretty young for a hip replacement. So then years later he went to the doctor again in Canada. He got put on a waiting list but in the mean time he got cortizone shots which helped so much. He could tell the day the shots wore off.

Finally it was his turn for hip surgery. Dr. Werle did a hip resurface surgery in Calgary for him. He was only there one night and then he passed the test to climb a couple stairs with is crutch so then he could go home.

One week later Carly had her wisdom teeth. So we had a chart on the cupboard for both patient's medication, and we kept a continual round of ice packs in and out of the freezer.

Then Lucy also wanted to join the fun, and she got her wisdom teeth when she came home for American Thanksgiving.

Katie's Baptism & Taycee's Wedding

All in one trip we got to go to Katie Nunn's baptism and Taycee Nunn's wedding.
We drove to McCall, Idaho to Katie's baptism. When Les and his family got there, the baptismal font hadn't been filled, so they started to fill it, but only hot water came out. The cold water faucet was broken. So they started having people haul pictures of cold water from the kitchen, and they found a hose and ran it through the church to add cold water.
More than an hour late, we had a great baptismal service for Katie and her friend.
Then we all went back to the ranch and had brownies and ice cream.

The next day we went to Cambridge to Taycee's wedding. She got officially married at a courthouse in January, but her and Dalton had a wedding celebration in October. It was a beautiful October day with an outdoor ceremony. Then they had a family dinner and dance at the fairgrounds.
We were glad we could be there to celebrate with them.
