Utah: Perkins Visit & Mission Reunion

We left the Gwilliam Family Reunion and headed south to visit Jill & Larsen.
We explored some cool caves and had milkshakes in Kanab.
We ate at the most delicious steakhouse in Tropic. Will is our best entertainment.

Then we met Declan for dinner - we love that kid.

Then to Huntsville for Austin's mission reunion in Huntsville, Utah.
30 years. New York Rochester Mission.
Lucy and Carly had to come with us because we were headed to Idaho Falls right after the reunion - so they didn't really have anywhere else to be.
It was fun to see Austin's mission people again. But mostly we love President Marlin K Jensen and Sister Kathy Jensen.  They had a dinner and then a testimony meeting.

Hanna & James Get Engaged

Larsen, "Hanna, can we come and hang out with you in Island Park during your honeymoon?"

Hanna, "H8&! no."

Les, "Is Hanna going to quit school and call it good since she is getting married?"

H*(# no

Hanna, the only times in my life I have been naked is when I shower and the time Dad (jokingly) said I will give you $5 to go shower outside during a full downpour rain storm when we lived at Grandpa & Grandma Nunn's while they were on their mission.

Hanna, "I don't know how to be sexy. Should I just walk out and drop into the splits?"

July 23 - Text to Austin from James. Is there a time I can call you today? Then we stopped in Boulder, Montana on the way to the family reunion, and James said, "Can I marry your daughter?" Austin said yes of course, if you can handle her attitude, her stomach & her allergies. Then James asked to talked to me, and said that he loves Hanna and wanted to thank us for raising a great daughter.

Then a couple hours later, we get a text from Hanna,

"Well bros, maybe she is going to cry."

Then we lost service for several hours.

Then she told us that James' mom had called him and asked if there was any way they could get married before September 5 when James's sister Mary is moving with her family to Africa.

On July 25, James took Hanna on a date to hit golf balls off the top of the mountain on his ranch and to watch the sunset. Right as the sun was setting, James stepped back and went down on one knee and Hanna turned around, and he proposed. Luckily Hanna said "Yes!"

James had set up a trailcam in the tree so it could be on video.

We were at the Gwilliam Family Reunion so she called to tell us. We are pretty excited for them.

Hanna and James did have to think about it for a couple days whether they wanted to have a really quick engagement, or go with their original plan of September 22. We said, why not? Get it done! Plus we had already bought Hanna a wedding dress in May, and getting married in August 26 would make it so we could drop Lucy off at BYU in the same trip as the wedding.

So we set off to plan a one-month engagement.

Gwilliam Family Reunion

Grandma Nunn's siblings and cousins and their kids and grandkids gathered for a Gwilliam Family Reunion near Salmon, Idaho. We ate food, talked and laughed, played games, went to Red Fish Lake on a super windy day, and the brave people went down the water slide. We also had a talent show and auction. It just wasn't a very warm weekend - it rained for a few hours on one of the days.
Family reunions are good entertainment!!

James Comes to Canada

We finally had the chance to have James to come to Canada. He was going to fly to North Carolina to look at an airplane he wanted to buy and then fly to Calgary. The plane thing fell through but he still decided to fly. It wasn't a good plan. He flew from Sheridan, Wyoming to Denver, Colorado. The flight from Denver to Calgary was delayed, delayed, delayed, cancelled. So then he got a seat on a flight the next morning from Denver to Calgary. After spending almost 24 hours in the Denver airport, his flight did actually take off and he made it to Canada.

We played hard for the two days he was here. We went to Waterton and went to Red Rock Canyon and then on a hike to Crandell Lake. We ate lunch at Wieners of Waterton. Then we came back to Cardston and went to a session at the Cardston Temple. That night we rode horses in our arena.

The second day James was here was Canada Day. We maximized the day. We started with the breakfast at the Leavitt Community Park. Then we drove to Raymond to watch the Canada Day parade. (Note to self - do not sit at the end of the parade route. Overrule Austin and walk the extra block to the start of the parade).

We came home, had lunch and went to float the Milk River in tubes. It was a windy day but it was hot so it was good. Did I mention how much I love to float in water?

Then we grilled hamburgers and played spike ball in our yard. Grandpa, Grandma, Rod, Sarah, Carter and Annie-Jo came over to our picnic.

Then we ended Canada Day watching the fireworks.

It was fun to have James here and get to know him more. I guess he passed - ha ha. We love him.
