Sadie Hawkins Dance

It was finally time to have a school dance after they had been cancelled for a couple years because of covid. Lucy asked Sam Hardy to the Sadie Hawkins dance using these pictures from when they were in a grade six play together.  Then Sam answered her with a big brown package he left on our doorstep with a huge roll of saran wrap that had tons of candy wrapped in it.

Sam and Lucy went as Peter Pan and Wendy. They had a blast.
And the bonus picture of Barb Salmon was one of many selfies Barb took at the dance while Lucy asked her to keep her phone.

Leavitt Variety Show

Our first post-covid joint activity was a Variety Show.
Our class made tutus and Ileigh Seely taught the girls a balance dance. They rocked it.
We also had a cello solo, magic tricks, dog tricks, etc. The young women leaders did a bubble gum blowing contest. Kim Weston had the young men and bishopric do a funny (but super long) Goldilocks and Three Bears skit.

Basketball Season

Lucy played on the Cardston High School varsity basketball team with Shelley Quinton and Logan VanDusen as their coaches. They had a fun and tough season. They missed a whole year of basketball and the chance to have a junior varsity season because of stupid covid.

Even this year, some of the scheduled tournaments were canceled because of covid restrictions. We still had to wear masks to watch the games until the last week of the season.

Carly played on the Grade 8 girls basketball team with Claire Sala as her coach, and then Austin volunteered to be her assistant coach. They had a successful season, although Claire kept all 13 girls that tried out, a rookie mistake. It is such tricky to give 13 girls playing time.
They did end their season winning divisionals and zones.

The high school showed their school spirit for the boys basketball games.
