Christmas
We love Christmas.
We haven't all been home and together for Christmas since 2018. And we have added two new family members since then - Larsen and Will.
We had such a fun Christmas together - laughing, eating, talking, playing, and everyone stayed healthy!
-Sealings at the Cardston Temple
-Sledding on our hill
-A very windy drive to Waterton
-Appetizer night
-Christmas Eve with the greater Nunn family over zoom
-Christmas pajamas
-The best surprise of Christmas was when we went to open our Christmas pajama pants, there were matching white shirts in everyone's package. Carly and Austin have a dream of starting a goat string/clothing company called "Eat Dirt." Carly has been working on a logo and has a hand-drawn logo. She walked down to the Pro Shop in Cardston and ordered everyone a matching t-shirt for Christmas. We were so surprised and loved her thoughtfulness.
-Christmas was on Sunday. So we just opened our stockings and the Santa gifts and then had breakfast and got ready for church. Christmas church was just one hour of a Christmas Sacrament meeting. Lucy and I sang in the choir, and there was a speaker and a few more songs. My favorite part was when the organ, piano, choir and congregation all sang Joy to the World.
-After church we opened the rest of the Christmas gifts. I always love to see the thoughtful gifts given.
Grandpa Buck built everyone their own footstool. Carly made Will a wooden phone in her shop class.
-After some Sunday naps, we had ham and potatoes for Christmas dinner. Grandpa & Grandma Nunn joined us. Then we did our fourth annual Christmas paintings - where we watch a painting tutorial video on YouTube and each paint a canvas picture. We painted snowmen this year. They all turn out so cute and different. I did realize that I will have to modify the tradition as the years go on to make it a little more kid friendly. We will always remember Lucy's Russian snowman hat.
-For tree gifts at the end of Christmas Day, we each got a book from the bookstore.
-On Boxing Day, we had breakfast and went in to ride horses. Then the Lees came to Cardston and we played basketball and spikeball at the church. Then we had lasagna at Grandmas. Then we played some minute to win it games that I had brought. We had lots of good laughs. Everyone was there except Taylor who wasn't feeling good and Kaden who is on his mission in Chile. Kaela's boyfriend, Joel, came too. We love him.
-Will was definitely a highlight of the week. As Austin said, he is unusually chill for a baby. We spent a lot of time sitting around watching him. He loves life and loves everyone and all food and can fully communicate his desires even though he can't talk. And it's so fun to watch Jill and Larsen as parents.
