Halloween & Snowy Football Game

Halloween was on a Sunday, so the girls dressed up for school on Friday. Carly and her friends dressed up as fairies and Lucy and her friends as army women.
We had a pretty good snowstorm that day, but we went to watch the high school football game anyway. We wore our winter clothes and went to watch. It wasn't that bad because it was too cold and it wasn't windy. The Cougars won!

Canadian Thanksgiving

It has been our tradition while we have lived in Canada to go to Sarah's house on Thanksgiving. We usually have a football game in their field before we eat. This year Sarah invited any Gwilliam relatives that live in Canada to come. Then Alberta set some more restrictions from the fourth wave of covid outbreak, so only a few came. But we ended up having Thanksgiving dinner on Sunday instead of Thanksgiving Monday. So no football.
But we did enjoy a delicious meal. Austin's Uncle Ted and Aunt Annie came, and so did Uncle Scott, Aunt Helen and their daughter Heather.
Austin sat at the kids table and assigned everyone one of the dishes of food that came to the kids table that they had to finish. There was a lot of sweet potatoes that Kaden had to eat, but he did it. He may never eat sweet potatoes again.
Grandma Nunn's pumpkin pies turned green when she baked them. The people who ate them said they tasted fine, despite their unappetizing look.

This is what Hanna posted she was thankful for on Thanksgiving!

Alberta High School Rodeo - Lucy & Carly

Have I mentioned how much Austin loves high school rodeo season? The girls all like it too.
Lucy and Carly had some good rodeo runs and some not so good rodeo runs.
There were still some covid restrictions, but not as bad as in the spring. We just had to wear masks when we were watching indoor rodeos.

Lucy and Carly both did well in goat tying, but not as successful this season in breakaway. Carly also did place in poles a few times.

Austin had an idea for Lucy to compete in barrel racing by borrowing Traci Aipperspach's horse, Cover Girl. Traci was nice enough to haul her in a couple times and help Lucy practice. The first rodeo was pretty good. Then the next two Lucy had a little trouble at the first barrel. Then she started to get the hang of it. Her last run on Cover Girl she ran a 14.3 at the Cardston High School Rodeo, her best time ever. She was so happy/proud/sad that it was her last run on that horse - a few tears came.
