Jill & Larsen's Baby Announcement

Jill and Larsen called us on Father's Day to tell us that Jill was pregnant and that they were expecting a baby in February. So exciting. And crazy that we are old enough to be grandparents.
Jill had to tell a few people pretty early that she was pregnant because she was not well. She was puking and puking. It is actually a good thing she didn't get pregnant until right after she graduated from college because it would have been tough to finish as sick as she was.
She called her doctor and he sent a prescription for her, but when Larsen went to pick it up it was going to be $600 for one month and her insurance wasn't going to cover it. So they didn't get it. The next day the pharmacy called and told her that there were two over-the-counter things she could take that were basically the same ingredients. But one was a sleeping pill, which did not go good. It made her sleep restlessly and have terrible dreams.
I text our friend Eve Verdon, who is a midwife, and she gave us some tips. I called our doctor in Canada and asked how much it would for him to write a prescription of diclectin for her and I asked Sarah to ask her husband how much it would cost to buy the pills without insurance. The doctor said no problem and sent the prescription to the pharmacy. He sent a prescription for 300 pills and it cost $220.
So we took them down when went to see Jill, and it helped her a lot.
They waited until they had their ultrasound and found out they were having a boy, and then they posted these cutest pictures announcing that they were having a baby!
Lucy has been a mission ever since to brainstorm baby names for them.

Jill & Larsen Visit Cardston

Jill and Larsen hadn't come to Cardston since their wedding reception. They finally got their second covid vaccine so they could come to Canada without having to quarantine. We were so excited for them to come, and plus we got to celebrate Jill's birthday with them and they got to come to a high school rodeo for Lucy and Carly.

25th Wedding Anniversary

Two young kids fell in love, got married and all of a sudden 25 years had passed. We went on an anniversary getaway a couple weeks before our actual anniversary. We went to Fernie, British Columbia which is about 2 1/2 hours away. We went out to dinner and the funniest like steak house - run like a diner. They sat us at a table and then asked if they could move us because that was where Dave the customer usually sits, so we couldn't take his table. Then when each order was done, they just yelled out the server's name in a really screetchy voice. Then I asked for lemonade, and they took water, poured in lemon juice and a little bit of sugar. Too funny.

After dinner we went on a hike to Fairy Falls. We stayed in a resort in Fernie and then the next morning we went to the Fernie ski hill and rode the ski lift to the top of the mountain. We went hiking up on the mountain and then it started to rain. We were a bit wet by the time we got done, but it was fun.

On our actual anniversary, we pounded posts for a new fence that goes along our driveway. It may not seem that romantic, but I am sooo excited for that fence so we don't have to worry about opening/closing bars/gates/ropes/chains over both cattle guards on our driveway in the winter when they get filled up with snow and the horses get out.

Then Grandma Nunn invited us over for a hot dog roast since it is also Labor Day, and we decided to ride our horses to her house.

Rodeo Quote Wall

Austin - "What number are you?"

Carly - "28 in poles, 21 in goats, 11 in breakaway"

Austin - "But what number are you really?"

Carly - "Number one!"

Austin to Carly as she walked out with her rodeo clothes - "That looks like a lucky shirt."

Carly, "Plus I am wearing the classic Nunn jeans so that should help too."

Carly watching her breakaway video - "Swing, swing, swing, splat"

Kaylynn to Lucy, "Were you helpful to Carly in the alley?"

Lucy, "Yes, I am the reason she won. I told her exactly what to do. Except I forgot I was going to tell her to ride, ride like hell, but then it's probably good I didn't say that. She might have been distracted by it."

After Carly's first goat run when her goat got up, Monica Schlosser was the announcer and said, "No time. Carly will be back tomorrow. The Nunns have a history of great goat tying."
