Leavitt Ladies Horse Ride

This year we went on our horse ride with our Leavitt friends earlier in the summer than normal. Usually we are all so busy in June and July, but not this year.  No camps. No vacations. And we picked a beautiful day for our ride to Wishbone in Waterton National Park.

Lucy and Carly came too. They weren't that excited to come with the old ladies, but there were some friends their age and they liked it more than they thought they would.

Leo is my favorite trail horse!

Co-vid projects

Now that everything was cancelled, and we had A LOT of time in our hands, we got some great projects done:
painted the laundry room
cleaned the storage room and the office
refinished the kitchen table
put in a new fence around our front yard and painted it
painted the deck and installed new shutters at the trailer
put in a new fence in the front field and one on the back hill
we cleaned out a ton of dead trees and broken branches

We also bought a new tractor. Our kids named it Screwy. Because you have to start it with a screwdriver. Austin loves his new tractor. He works the arena every single day. And he has done lots of projects with his new tractor. And we use it to pull the roping dummy.

Once the weather finally turned warmer, we have rode horses most days when the arena is dry. We also bought roping steers, calves and goats so we can practice all of our rodeo events too. That has been a benefit of the pandemic.

Roping Galore & Goat Babies

Since we didn't have anywhere to go this summer, we rode horses and roped almost every day in our arena. It is our dream come true to have our own arena. We bought 7 roping steers and 2 calves and so we had our own roping practice almost every day.

We also bought some momma goats and had them bred so then we had 10 goat babies and 9 lived.
