Cross Country Skiing in White Fish

I had a dream. I really wanted to go cross country skiing in Whitefish, Montana, on the golf course. We haven't gone to Waterton cross country skiing for a couple years since the fire because the road to Cameron Lake has been closed.
So I found this place in Whitefish where you can rent skis and ski on the golf  course.
We left Cardston where it has been super windy for days and days. Partway to Kalispell the wind stopped, and we were in heaven. We ate lunch at a little deli in Whitefish and headed to the golf course to rent skis.
It was such a beautiful day. It took us a little while to get the hang of skiing, especially going down hills. We got better by the end of our time, even after we all fell a time or two.

This is Austin when we got to the hotel room after our afternoon of skiing.
After a little rest, we went out to dinner at Makenzie River Steak House and then some shopping. We went swimming at our hotel to end our day of adventure.

I love my family. I love nature. I love the USA.

Carly in Alberta Children's Choir

Carly had an amazing experience and got to be a part of the Alberta Children's Choir. Her music teacher in Cardston, Natisha Bevans, nominated them and practiced with them leading up to the concert. The kids had to go to a one-day practice in Calgary in January. Then they had to go for 3 days of practice and then the concert. We are so grateful for Marnie Butler for taking Carly with her to the practices, and then we came up the last night so we could be there for the Sunday concert.

They had an amazing guest director, Lynnel Joy Jenkins from Princeton, New Jersey. Carly loved her. She was so dynamic and amazing. The concert was awesome. Several other choirs sang first, and then the Alberta Children's Choir. The first song of the concert was "I Believe in the Sun Even When It is Not Shining" which is a song that Linda Burwell, the Cardston Elementary choir director who passed away a few months ago, had her choir sing often. She is the reason Cardston has such an amazing choir program. We all teared up knowing she was there in spirit watching the concert.

Carly is a great singer, and we are thankful for this opportunity she had.
Carly left us each the sweetest note before she left.
