Easter

Carly, Hanna, Jill, Lucy modeling their new Easter jewelry.

Last year Austin told me that he was going to be in charge of Easter next year. I reminded him about a month ago and then a week before Easter. Anyway, he ended up at Wal-Mart at midnight on Saturday night. He has been to Wal-Mart at midnight gift shopping before (remember Kaylynn's birthday 2006).

Anyway, we had a great Easter. We colored eggs the night before. The Easter bunny came and hid candy and eggs, and brought the girls necklaces, bracelets and rings. I got a beautiful bouquet of flowers. Austin and I gave the girls a pogo stick. It is harder than they thought it would be.

We had delicious food. We read the Easter story from the Easter eggs that Reatha (Malin's Mom) gave to me when I was in college.

Spring Break

We decided to actually take a spring break trip this year, and we were hoping to go somewhere warmer, so we went to Cedar City, Zions National Park, and St. George. It was warmer than it was at our house, but we certainly didn't come back with tans.

On the way down, we dropped off my ring at Jeanette's jeweler to have my diamonds reset. After 14 years, they could have fallen out sometime soon.

Then we stopped at Cove Fort. It is a very cool place from Mormon history. It was definitely worth it.

Then we slept at Abbey Inn in Cedar City. If you ever need to stay in a hotel in Cedar City, we definitely recommend it. The rooms are very nice, cute and clean, with a nice swimming pool, and a full hot breakfast in the morning.

On Friday we drove to Zions National Park. We rode the shuttle up the canyon and hiked to Weeping Rock, to the start of the Narrows, and to Emerald Pools. Thank goodness for the baby backpack. It was so much fun and really good weather, but we were worn out by the end of the day. There were lots of other people that had the same idea. We saw 3 families we know.

The funny comment of the day was a nice oriental man said to Austin, "Four girls, you are very brave, courageous."

That night we drove to St. George, had some delicious food at Texas Roadhouse and sat in the hot tub for a few minutes.

On Saturday morning, I dreamed of great outlet mall shopping. We got a whole hour in before everyone but me was back in the car ready to go, so we made our way back home.

We had a very fun trip!!

9-1-1

What are the chances that Carly would be playing with the phone, get it turned on, and push 911 in the right order? Well, it happened this morning while I was doing Jill's hair for school. I heard talking on the phone, saw it was 911, and hurried to hang up. (Looking back, I should have talked to the dispatcher to tell him it was my 11-month old baby and that there was no emergency). I expected them to call back. But then 4 minutes later Austin called and asked if Carly had been playing with the phone. A sheriff called him to ask if everything was okay at his house. They know him well since they are frequently at his school. Austin told me they were coming to make sure everything was okay. So I hurried to put on make-up, and then Sheriff Stewart came to our house. He was very nice and said his baby had done the same thing a couple days before. He just took my name and asked if everything was okay.

Lesson of the day: don't let your baby play with the phone

We want Spring!

March tricked us with a few days of nice weather, but then we have had lots of storms and more to come. We are all ready for spring weather!

We celebrated Hanna's 8th birthday! We went to Sizzler for dinner, went swimming at the high school for her friend birthday party, and she got scriptures for birthday gift. We love having Hanna in our family!!!

HANNA'S BIRTHDAY PARTY

Hanna got baptized 4 days after her birthday. Grandpa and Grandma were able to come from Canada. Lots of family came from my side of the family, too. It was a great day. Hanna was showered with gifts. Thanks to everyone! Aunt Sarah sewed Hanna's beautiful white baptism dress. Today she asked me if she could wear it to school. I told her that would be like me wearing my wedding dress to the grocery store.

Grandpa and Grandma brought down our two horses that we bought the horse sale in Canada last August. Jill's horse is Lena and Hanna's is Spurs. They have been to see them everyday so they can become good friends.
